Dance Instructor
Nikolaos Vastakis Odenwelder is a distinguished instructor and researcher with Hellenic Roots. Originally hailing from Atlanta, he commenced his career representing Lykeion ton Ellindion of Atlanta, eventually assuming the role of junior program director in 2019. In 2023, demonstrating his commitment to continuous professional development, he relocated to Brooklyn, New York, to collaborate with and study under the esteemed Mr. Petros Fourniotis at Hellenic Roots.
For the past 12 years, Nikolaos has consistently competed as a dancer and instructor at the prestigious Hellenic Dance Festival. In the most recent edition, he played a pivotal role in co-directing a group alongside Mr. Fourniotis, securing a well-deserved silver medal for their outstanding performances. Notably, Nikolaos further showcased his students by bringing three groups to Parathosi in Long Island a week later, achieving commendable success with silver awards in both Division II and III.
